Influence of Sm doping on structural, ferroelectric, electrical, optical and magnetic properties of BaTiO3

Anju Kumari et al.

Summary: In this study, the properties of Sm-doped BaTiO3 ceramics were investigated, revealing enhanced spontaneous polarization, high dielectric constant, and semiconductor nature for the Sm-BTO samples, which can be utilized in visible range photon harvesting devices. The magnetic measurements also suggested ferromagnetic ordering at room temperature. Overall, the findings indicate that the properties of BTO ferroelectric ceramic can be modulated through Sm doping.

Investigations on the Structural and Electrical Properties of Sm3+-Doped Nickel Ferrite-Based Ceramics

Mehjabeen Khan et al.

Summary: Ferrimagnetic NiSmxFe2-xO4 ceramics were synthesized using a self-propagating sol-gel autocombustion method, with X-ray diffraction revealing cubic symmetry of spinel ferrite and the presence of a ferroelectric phase SmFeO3. Rietveld refinement method was used to determine the phases and lattice parameter, showing an increase in the ferroelectric phase with doping concentration. The electrical properties of the samples were investigated through room temperature dielectric and impedance analysis, showing notable dielectric behavior for x = 0.05 concentration.

Eco-friendly Bi(Ni2/5Ti2/5Fe1/5)O3 nanoceramics: Synthesis, dielectric and impedance studies

Nitin Kumar et al.

Summary: The synthesis and study of polycrystalline Bi(Ni2/5Ti2/5Fe1/5)O3 nano-ceramic showed that replacing NiTiO3 into BiFeO3 enhanced properties and reduced electrical leakage current. The average crystallite size was calculated to be 29 nm, with uniform grain distribution on sample surfaces. Dielectric and impedance spectroscopy parameters at different temperatures and frequencies offer promising features for further device applications.

Studies of structural, electrical and ferroelectric characteristics of gadolinium and yttrium modified bismuth ferrite

L. Thansanga et al.

Summary: The study investigates the effect of Fe-site substitution of gadolinium (Gd) and yttrium (Y) on the structural, dielectric, electrical, and ferroelectric properties of bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3). Through X-ray diffraction analysis, it was found that the substitution led to a structural transformation from rhombohedral to orthorhombic symmetry, with a suppression of impurity phases in the bismuth ferrite. The average crystallite size of the modified bismuth ferrite was evaluated through Scherrer's relation, and the field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) images confirmed the formation of high-quality samples with uniform grain distribution. The impedance analyzer data collected at different temperatures revealed significant changes in the dielectric, resistivity, and capacitive features of the materials, with potential implications for device applications.
