A comparative study on the effect of monodisperse Au and Ag nanoparticles on the performance of organic photovoltaic devices

Hatice Kacus et al.

Summary: In this study, monodisperse Au and Ag nanoparticles were obtained and characterized, then embedded into the P3HT:PCBM photoactive layer; the best solar cell composition was found to be 1 wt% for Au NPs and 0.5 wt% for Ag NPs; the increase in power conversion efficiencies was explained by a plasmonic effect from the metallic NPs.
