Independent gradient model based on Hirshfeld partition: A new method for visual study of interactions in chemical systems

Tian Lu et al.

Summary: The powerful independent gradient model (IGM) method has limitations in graphically studying weak interactions. In this article, an improved version of IGM, called IGM based on Hirshfeld partition (IGMH), is proposed to overcome the shortcomings. The rigorous physical background of IGMH is demonstrated through various application examples, showcasing its important value in intuitively understanding interactions in chemical systems.

Influence of donor-acceptor groups on the electrical and optical properties of C50 fullerene

Ali Ayoubikaskooli et al.

Summary: The C-50 fullerene was used as a source of pi electrons, and electron donor-acceptor groups were added to enhance its optical properties. Results showed a significant improvement in the electronic and optical properties of C-50 due to the presence of donor and acceptor groups, especially in UV-visible absorption and non-linear optical properties.

Khodayar Gholivand et al.

Summary: In this study, four novel phosphoramide ligands were synthesized and characterized, showing significant cytotoxicity against MCF-7 breast cancer cells. Functionalization of graphene oxide (GO) surface by one of the ligands (L1) led to a synergistic antitumor effect with a decreased IC50 value. Quantum calculations and docking calculations were used to study the energy and binding modes of the compounds, providing insights into their potential applications in cancer treatment.

Are nickel- and titanium- doped fullerenes suitable adsorbents for dopamine in an aqueous solution? Detailed DFT and AIM studies

Ali Shokuhi Rad et al.

Summary: This study investigated the enhancement of fullerene C60 polarity in water by doping titanium and nickel atoms, and explored the adsorption of dopamine on generated metallofullerenes using density functional theory. The results showed that the most energetically favorable positions had adsorption energy values of -311.4 and -157.8 kJ/mol using Ti- and Ni-doped fullerene, respectively. Atom in molecule (AIM) calculations revealed the ionic bond responsible for attaching dopamine molecule to each metallofullerene, with detailed analysis from the perspective of quantum chemistry.
