Electronic effects on protective mechanism of electropolymerized coatings based on N-substituted aniline derivatives for mild steel in saline solution

Hao Liu et al.

Summary: Polyaniline, poly(N-methylaniline), and poly(N-formylanilide) coatings were prepared on mild steel using chronoamperometric strategy in an oxalate electrolyte. The coatings were evaluated for their anticorrosive effects, and it was found that poly(N-formylanilide) exhibited the highest protection capacity among the three coatings. Electroactivity and physical barrier were identified as critical factors for long-term corrosion protection.

Mechanistic evaluation of adsorption and corrosion inhibition capabilities of novel indoline compounds for oil well/tubing steel in 15% HCl

Tarun Kanti Sarkar et al.

Summary: The investigation presents the superior corrosion inhibition capabilities of two novel indoline compounds for oil well/tubing steel in 15% HCl solution. The gravimetric studies confirm high corrosion inhibition efficiency, while the electrochemical analysis approves the reduction in cathodic corrosion reaction and anodic reaction due to inhibitor adsorption. The substrate surface analysis reveals the formation of a protective film to protect the surface from aggressive acid solution, and theoretical studies support the experimental corrosion parameters.

Progress and prospects in chitosan derivatives: Modification strategies and medical applications

Sheng Ding et al.

Summary: Chitosan is a natural alkaline polysaccharide derived from marine organisms with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity and good water solubility. However, its poor solubility under physiological conditions limits its applications, thus systematic summarization of modification strategies for CS derivatives is highly necessary. Current research has improved the properties of CS derivatives through chemical reactions and physical integration, providing more possibilities for medical applications.
