Replacing Ru complex with carbon dots over MOF-derived Co3O4/In2O3 catalyst for efficient solar-driven CO2 reduction

Qian Liang et al.

Summary: This study reports a highly stable carbon dot-modified photocatalyst for efficient solar-driven CO2 reduction. The photocatalyst exhibits a high CO generation rate without the need for sacrificial agents. Compared to catalysts with noble metals, this carbon dot catalyst has lower economic cost and significantly improved performance in CO2 reduction.

Insight into reaction pathways of CO2 photoreduction into CH4 over hollow microsphere Bi2MoO6-supported Au catalysts

Wenjie He et al.

Summary: In this study, Au nanoparticles supported on hollow microsphere structured Bi2MoO6 (HMS-BMO) were synthesized and demonstrated to be efficient photocatalysts for CO2 reduction. The hollow microsphere morphology of Bi2MoO6 support enhances light absorption and allows for high-energy electron enrichment. Under visible light irradiation, the Au-1.5/HMS-BMO catalyst shows high CO2 conversion efficiency and selectivity towards methane.

Van Der Waals gap-rich BiOCl atomic layers realizing efficient, pure-water CO2-to-CO photocatalysis

Yanbiao Shi et al.

Summary: Efficient photocatalytic CO2-to-CO conversion in pure water was achieved by utilizing sub-3-nm-thick BiOCl nanosheets with van der Waals gaps on the two-dimensional facets. The presence of VDWGs on atomic layers significantly enhanced charge separation efficiency and facilitated the formation of highly active sites for CO2 transformation. Increasing VDWG exposure is proposed as a strategy for designing high-performance solar-fuel generation systems.

Ag quantum dots modified hierarchically porous and defective TiO2 nanoparticles for improved photocatalytic CO2 reduction

Guohui Li et al.

Summary: A novel hierarchically porous and defective TiO2 modified by Ag quantum dots has been designed for photocatalytic reduction of CO2, showing excellent and stable activity with suppression of H-2 evolution. The super photocatalytic activity is attributed to the design of hierarchically porous structure, intrinsic defects in TiO2, localized surface plasmon resonance of Ag, and synergetic effect between Ag quantum dots and defective TiO2.
