Connexin32 ameliorates epithelial-to-mesenchymal-transition in diabetic renal tubular via inhibiting NOX4

Xiaohong Sun et al.

Summary: This study reveals that Cx32 plays a protective role in diabetic renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis by suppressing EMT and ECM production, as well as inhibiting ROS generation in renal tubules. Mechanistically, Cx32 down-regulates PKCα expression to inhibit the formation of p22phox-NOX4 complex, leading to reduced NOX4 protein levels.

Echinacoside reverses myocardial remodeling and improves heart function via regulating SIRT1/FOXO3a/MnSOD axis in HF rats induced by isoproterenol

Yajuan Ni et al.

Summary: Myocardial remodelling is a key pathological process in HF, and ECH reverses this process and improves cardiac function by regulating the SIRT1/FOXO3a/MnSOD axis and inhibiting mitochondrial oxidative stress.

cMet agonistic antibody prevents acute kidney injury to chronic kidney disease transition by suppressing Smurf1 and activating Smad7

Lilin Li et al.

Summary: The study investigated the role of cMet agonistic antibody in preventing kidney fibrosis during the transition from acute kidney injury to chronic kidney disease. By decreasing inflammatory response and inhibiting the TGF-β/Smad pathway, cMet Ab successfully prevented fibrosis response in models of kidney fibrosis.
