Dialysis Organization Online Information on Kidney Failure Treatments: A Content Analysis Using Corpus Linguistics

Rebecca Jane Allen et al.

Summary: Dialysis organizations' websites have a significant influence on patient decision making, but they have not received much attention. A study was conducted to analyze how these websites present kidney replacement therapy options and portray the quality of life associated with these options. The findings suggest that the websites emphasize dialysis as a treatment for kidney failure and present a very optimistic view of the quality of life on dialysis. Further qualitative studies are needed to explore treatment modalities and the quality of life on dialysis in the patient-targeted material of dialysis organizations.

Perceptions of Telehealth vs In-Person Visits Among Older Adults With Advanced Kidney Disease, Care Partners, and Clinicians

Keren Ladin et al.

Summary: Older patients, care partners, and kidney clinicians have divergent views on patient-centered telehealth care, especially in terms of clinical effectiveness, patient experience, access to care, and clinician-patient relationship. Understanding these perceptions can help identify barriers that need to be addressed to promote high-quality care and telehealth utilization.
