A detailed appraisal of renal manifestations in primary hyperparathyroidism from Indian PHPT registry: Before and after curative parathyroidectomy

Kanhaiya Agrawal et al.

Summary: Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) often presents with renal manifestations, especially in male and younger patients. Curative parathyroidectomy can improve renal function in PHPT patients with renal manifestations compared to those without renal manifestations.

Evaluating distal renal tubular acidification function in primary hyperparathyroidism and its effects on bone mineral density

Wangna Tang et al.

Summary: Our study found that about 54.6% of PHPT patients had abnormal distal renal tubular acidification. This may lead to lower hip bone density. Female PHPT patients with abnormal distal renal tubular acidification are more susceptible to fractures and osteoporosis.
