The Effect of Name and Narrative Voice in Online Adoption Profiles on the Length of Stay of Sheltered Cats in the UK

Chloe Rix et al.

Summary: Research on factors influencing the length of stay (LOS) of cats in rehoming shelters showed that age, sex, and adoption description style (first vs. third person) have significant effects on LOS. Younger cats, male cats, and those with descriptions in the third person were rehomed faster, indicating the importance of considering these factors to minimize LOS and improve cat welfare in shelters.
