Maternal serum endothelial cell-specific molecule-1 level and its correlation with severity of early-onset preeclampsia

Ali Ovayolu et al.

Summary: Endothelial cell-specific molecule-1 is not associated with the risk of cardiovascular diseases linked with endothelial dysfunction in early-onset preeclampsia (E-PE), and shows no significant correlation with disease severity. Further well-designed studies with larger samples are needed to better understand the pathogenesis of E-PE.

Summary: Childhood obesity is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases in adulthood. Measuring cIMT and endocan levels can serve as biological markers for complications caused by endothelial damage, and early preventive measures can significantly reduce morbidity and mortality in adults.
