In situ photodeposition of platinum clusters on a covalent organic framework for photocatalytic hydrogen production

Yimeng Li et al.

Summary: Porous covalent organic frameworks have been engineered with co-catalyst binding sites to improve photocatalytic hydrogen evolution performances. Photodeposited platinum clusters as cocatalyst on the framework make it an efficient photocatalyst for light-driven hydrogen production. This work provides a direction for structural design on covalent organic frameworks to develop efficient photocatalysts.

Exciton binding energy and screening length in two-dimensional semiconductors

Hieu T Nguyen-Truong

Summary: In this study, we approximately solved the Schrödinger equation for two-dimensional Wannier-Mott excitons using the effective mass approximation. We derived an expression for the exciton energy levels and introduced approximate expressions to experimentally determine the exciton binding energy, screening length, and exciton reduced mass. Our results agree well with experimental data and theoretical calculations.

Band Gap Engineering in Solvochromic 2D Covalent Organic Framework Photocatalysts for Visible Light-Driven Enhanced Solar Fuel Production from Carbon Dioxide

Nem Singh et al.

Summary: This study presents a new strategy of band gap engineering in covalent organic framework (COF) photocatalysts by varying the push-pull electronic effect. Four different COFs with fine-tuned band gaps and band edge positions were synthesized, demonstrating high-efficiency photobiocatalytic systems for NADH photoregeneration and formic acid production under visible light. Morphology-guided enhanced surface area and dual keto-enol tautomerism-induced push-pull effect were identified as key features in fine-tuning the photocatalysts.
