Retrospective Review of Midpoint Vestibular Aqueduct Size in the 45? Oblique (P?schl) Plane and Correlation with Hearing Loss in Patients with Enlarged Vestibular Aqueduct

K. Bouhadjer et al.

Summary: The study aimed to determine the correlation between midpoint vestibular aqueduct measurements in the Pöschl plane in patients with an enlarged vestibular aqueduct with repeat audiologic measures. The results showed that there was a correlation between the midpoint vestibular aqueduct size and repeat audiologic measures in patients with enlarged vestibular aqueducts, indicating that this measurement method is reliable in clinic.

Vestibular Aqueduct Size Correlates With the Degree of Cochlear Hydrops in Patients With and Without Meniere's Disease

Desiree Grosser et al.

Summary: The width of the vestibular aqueduct was found to be significantly smaller in patients with Meniere's disease and positively correlated with the degree of cochlear hydrops. This study confirms the importance of the vestibular aqueduct in the pathogenesis of endolymphatic hydrops in vivo.
