A novel design method of the impact zone of a high-speed train

Hui Zhao et al.

Summary: This study introduced a novel design method of impact zone based on the concept of linear impact force, leading to an optimized design with smaller impact acceleration peak value, higher utilization efficiency of compression stroke, and more uniform distribution of crashing displacement.

The derailment behaviour and mechanism of a subway train under frontal oblique collisions

Shuguang Yao et al.

Summary: Research shows that in frontal oblique collisions, the movements of middle couplers and lateral impact forces are the main factors causing train derailment. With increasing impact angles, the derailment behavior and mode of the train also change. Limiting the yawing movement of middle couplers and improving the lateral crashworthiness of vehicle structures are effective measures to reduce the risk of train derailment during oblique collisions.

Full-Scale Train-to-Train Impact Test and Multi-Body Dynamic Simulation Analysis

Hui Zhao et al.

Summary: The study investigates the dynamic response of trains during train-to-train crash tests and establishes a dynamic model to predict their behavior accurately. The sensitivity of key influencing parameters is discussed, with results indicating that impact velocity has a significant effect on the movement displacement of the vehicle.
