A Bioinspired Five-Coordinated Single-Atom Iron Nanozyme for Tumor Catalytic Therapy

Summary: Single-atom nanozymes are a new research frontier in the biomedical fields. A melamine-mediated pyrolysis activation strategy has been used to controllably fabricate iron-based SAzymes with a five-coordinated structure (FeN5). The FeN5 SAzyme shows excellent peroxidase-like activity and significantly enhanced antitumor effect in vitro and in vivo.

Bubble-templated synthesis of nanocatalyst Co/C as NADH oxidase mimic

In this study, a porous carbon-supported cobalt catalyst was synthesized to mimic the catalytic functions of natural NADH oxidase. This article provides updated insights into achieving highly effective nanocatalytic reactions and the design and formulation of multifunctional nanozyme-based systems, and offers comments and outlooks on further biomedical translation of NCT.

Self-Assembled Single-Site Nanozyme for Tumor-Specific Amplified Cascade Enzymatic Therapy

Summary: This study presents a new strategy utilizing nanozymes with single-site cascade enzymatic reactions for tumor-specific therapy, demonstrating the ability to selectively kill tumor cells while avoiding harm to normal cells. Through tumor-specific glutathione oxidase activity, the nanozymes were able to amplify the production of highly toxic hydroxyl radicals for tumor cell apoptosis, showing potential for effective tumor growth suppression in vivo.

Summary: By utilizing a novel catalyst containing both Ir nanoparticles and Ir single-atom sites, the issue of CO poisoning in proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) has been successfully addressed, leading to excellent H-2 oxidation activity and CO electro-oxidation activity. The interplay between Ir nanoparticles and Ir single-atom centers confers the catalyst with improved performance in tolerating CO in H-2/CO mixture gas compared to the current best PtRu/C catalyst.
