Decoupling engineering of formamidinium-cesium perovskites for efficient photovoltaics

Haoran Chen et al.

Summary: A sequential Cs incorporation strategy was developed to decouple the crystallization of FACs perovskite, resulting in highly stable and efficient photovoltaics. The strategy successfully achieved uniform composition distribution and low defect densities in the FA(1)(-)(x)Cs(x)PbI(3) (x = 0.05-0.16) films, improving the reproducibility, efficiency, and stability of the devices. The incorporation of Cs into FAPbI(3) significantly reduced the electron-phonon coupling strength, suppressing ionic migration and enhancing the stability of FA-Cs-based devices.

Machine-Learning Modeling for Ultra-Stable High-Efficiency Perovskite Solar Cells

Yingjie Hu et al.

Summary: Through machine learning, the influences of factors such as grain size, defect density, bandgap, fluorescence lifetime, and surface roughness on the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells have been revealed. The bandgap has the greatest impact on efficiency, while surface roughness and grain size have the most influence on long-term stability.

Surface Engineering of Ambient-Air-Processed Cesium Lead Triiodide Layers for Efficient Solar Cells

So Me Yoon et al.

Summary: Cesium lead triiodide (CsPbI3) has a desirable band gap and high thermal stability, but its power conversion efficiency (PCE) is lower than that of organic cation-based halide perovskites with identical band gaps. The PCE of CsPbI3 solar cells is mainly governed by the surface morphology and defect passivation of its thin films.

Phosphorene Nanoribbon-Augmented Optoelectronics for Enhanced Hole Extraction

Thomas J. Macdonald et al.

Summary: Phosphorene nanoribbons (PNRs) have demonstrated enhanced hole mobility in both solar cells and space-charge-limited-current devices, showing promise for improving hole extraction in various optoelectronic applications. The presence of PNRs drives more effective carrier extraction and improves both hole mobility and conductivity, providing experimental evidence that the predicted superlative functional properties of PNRs indeed translate to improved optoelectronic performance.

Enhancing the efficiency and stability of two-dimensional Dion-Jacobson perovskite solar cells using a fluorinated diammonium spacer

Di Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel 2D DJ perovskite film was prepared using 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-1,4-benzenedimethanammonium (TFBDA), which showed improved charge transport and dense morphology. The TFBDA-based PVSC achieved an outstanding PCE of 15.24%, outperforming its nonfluorinated counterpart. The enhanced efficiency and stability of the TFBDA-based devices can be attributed to the hydrophobic nature of the fluorine atom and the stronger interaction between the fluorinated organic spacer and the inorganic slab.
