Manipulating Hierarchical Orientation of Wet-Spun Hybrid Fibers via Rheological Engineering for Zn-Ion Fiber Batteries

Zhou Xia et al.

Summary: Wet-spinning is a promising strategy for fabricating fiber electrodes for commercial fiber batteries due to its compatibility with large-scale production. However, regulating the rheological properties of electrochemical materials for wet-spinning remains a challenge. In this study, the rheological behavior of V2O5 nanowire dispersions was controlled by introducing graphene oxide (GO) flakes, leading to the successful fabrication of wet-spun V2O5/rGO hybrid fibers with excellent performance for zinc-ion storage. These fibers were integrated into a wearable self-powered system with high overall efficiency.

Towards high-performance aqueous zinc-ion battery via cesium ion intercalated vanadium oxide nanorods

Yae Qi et al.

Summary: Layered vanadium oxide cathode materials have been extensively studied in rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries due to their large interlayer distance and high capacity. However, these materials suffer from fast capacity decay during long-term cycles. In this study, cesium ions were intercalated into hydrated vanadium pentoxide to reinforce the layered structure and enhance the interaction between layers, resulting in improved specific capacity and excellent long-term cycle stability.
