The Synthesis and Characterization of Hard-Soft Mn52Al45.7C2.3-α-Fe Nanocomposite Magnets

S. N. Attyabi et al.

Summary: We report on the magnetic exchange coupling behavior in hard-soft Mn52Al45.7C2.3-alpha-Fe nanocomposite magnets synthesized by high-energy ball milling at room temperature followed by post-annealing treatment at temperatures 300 to 600 degrees C. The analysis of hysteresis loops and derivative magnetic curves showed that annealing at 400 degrees C resulted in effective exchange coupling between Mn52Al45.7C2.3 and alpha-Fe grains. However, higher annealing temperatures led to weaker exchange coupling due to increased magnetostatic interaction between the hard and soft components.

Microstructure, Magnetic Properties, and Thermal Stability of Bulk Anisotropic SmCo7/α-Fe(Co) + Nd2Fe14B/α-Fe Multiphase Nanohybrid Magnets

Yana Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, anisotropic bulk SmCo7/alpha-Fe(Co) + Nd2Fe14B/alpha-Fe multiphase nanohybrid magnets were fabricated through high-pressure thermal compression deformation. The microstructure, magnetic properties, and thermal stability of the multiphase nanohybrid magnet were investigated. The results showed that the magnet had a high energy product and thermal stability at high temperatures, indicating its potential for high-temperature applications.

Tailoring the microstructure and magnetic properties of (Nd,Pr)2Fe14B/α-Fe nanocomposite magnets via Ta addition

W. K. Deng et al.

Summary: The addition of tantalum (Ta) has been found to refine the microstructure and improve the magnetic properties of (Nd0.4Pr0.6)(9)Fe85-xTaxB6 nanocomposite magnets. With increasing Ta content, the coercivity of the alloys significantly increases while the remanence decreases slightly. The enhancement of magnetic properties is mainly attributed to grain refinement achieved by adding Ta.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of milling time on the morphological, structural, and magnetic properties of NdFeB powders, finding that coercivity reached a maximum value after 1 hour of milling. Additionally, the effect of the volume ratio of different magnetic phases on microstructure and magnetic properties was reported, leading to the highest specific saturation magnetization after 8 hours of milling.
