First-Principles Calculations for the Impact of Hydrogenation on the Electron Behavior and Stability of Borophene Nanosheets: Implications for Boron 2D Electronics

Kaijuan Pang et al.

Summary: Through first-principles calculations, the electronic structures and transport properties of hydrogenated borophene were investigated, revealing that the metallic character is preserved after hydrogenation, but the electronic structures are significantly influenced by the position and number of introduced hydrogen atoms. Different hydrogenation patterns can efficiently modulate the transport properties and current-voltage characteristics of borophane structures, suggesting potential applications in boron-based 2D electronics devices.

Synthesis of borophane polymorphs through hydrogenation of borophene

Qiucheng Li et al.

Summary: This study reports the synthesis of borophane polymorphs by hydrogenating borophene with atomic hydrogen, revealing their specific bonding modes and metallic properties. The borophane polymorphs can be reversibly returned to pristine borophene through thermal desorption of hydrogen, and also provide a chemical passivation effect by reducing oxidation rates.

Prediction of superconductivity in bilayer borophenes

Luo Yan et al.

Summary: Borophenes and related two-dimensional materials exhibit exotic properties, with bilayer borophenes BL-B8 and BL-B30 showing intrinsic superconducting features with transition temperatures of 11.9 K and 4.9 K, respectively. The low-frequency vibrations of boron atoms play a crucial role in their superconductivity, with notable electron-phonon coupling observed in BL-B8. These findings provide guidance for experimentally determining the superconductivity of borophene and expanding the two-dimensional superconductor family.

Anisotropic longitudinal optical conductivities of tilted Dirac bands in 1T′-MoS2

Chao-Yang Tan et al.

Summary: We theoretically investigate the anisotropic longitudinal optical conductivities of tilted Dirac bands in 1T'-MoS2, revealing the influences of spin-orbit coupling gap, band tilting, and vertical electric field on the optical conductivities. A theoretical scheme for probing the topological phase transition in 1T'-MoS2 via exotic behaviors of longitudinal optical conductivities is proposed. The results for 1T'-MoS2 are expected to be qualitatively valid for other monolayer tilted gapped Dirac materials.
