Raman study of D* band in graphene oxide and its correlation with reduction

A. Young Lee et al.

Summary: The study investigates the relationship between the intensity ratio of D* to G band and the reduction of graphene oxide (GO) to evaluate the degree of reduction of rGO. Spectral analysis and systematic research revealed a strong linkage between the D*/G intensity ratio and the C/O atomic ratio, which provides an indicator of the quality of rGO for optimal performance in applications.

Polycrystalline Few-Layer Graphene as a Durable Anticorrosion Film for Copper

Zhijuan Zhao et al.

Summary: The study reveals that using atomically thin, polycrystalline few-layer graphene (FLG) as a protective coating film can effectively prevent metal corrosion in atmospheric environments by exploiting the misalignment of grain boundaries and energy barrier to corrosive molecules diffusion.

TECHNOLOGY AND APPLICATIONS OF GRAPHENE OXIDE MEMBRANES

Xuanye Leng et al.

Summary: Graphene oxide (GO) is an amphiphilic derivative of graphene that is water dispersible and widely used in the production of graphene and organic-inorganic hybrids. The presence of functional acidic groups in GO allows for tunable physicochemical properties, making it suitable for membranes, water purification, sensing, and stimuli response applications. However, challenges in controlling the concentration and distribution of functional groups on GO molecules limit its standardization and industrial applications.
