Least-squares gamma estimation in fringe projection profilometry

Antonio Munoz et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a novel method to estimate and compensate the nonlinear gamma factor in fringe projection profilometry, which only requires a minimal set of three fringe sinusoidal images. The proposed method demonstrates the feasibility to estimate and correct the gamma distortion in computational legacy data.

Heterodyne phase shifting method in scanning probe microscopy

Andrea Di Donato et al.

Summary: The paper introduces a novel implementation of the continuous phase shifting method, called heterodyne holography, in a scanning probe microscope setup to retrieve complex scattered fields in an on-axis configuration. This method combines scanning interference microscopy with low-coherent signals acquired in the frequency domain to capture a continuous sequence of holograms at different wavelengths in just one scan. By utilizing the advantages of phase shifting technique, it overcomes limitations of off-axis holography in providing quantitative phase imaging.

3D defect detection of connectors based on structured light

Ji Yue et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a method for detecting connector defects based on structured light, which combines structured light and binocular stereo vision to obtain three-dimensional data for connectors. Point cloud registration and decision trees are used for defect identification and classification, achieving high accuracy in both 3D reconstruction and defect classification. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in detecting and classifying three-dimensional connector defects.
