Several solutions of ionic liquids based on 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium cation saturated and unsaturated with carbon dioxide were prepared and characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The influence of ILs saturation on its electrical conductivity was determined. Additionally, the influence of the water presence and variations of temperature on electrical properties of ionic liquids were investigated. Changes of conductivity due to saturation and water content are discussed. Obtained results show that the ionic liquids conductivity significantly depends on the water content. It was shown that the increase of the conductivity cannot be explained by partial conductivities of hydronium, bicarbonate and hydroxide ions. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
