Climate change and the hydropower sector: A global review

Asphota Wasti et al.

Summary: Renewable hydropower is a low-emission source of electricity, but its vulnerability to climate change is a concern. The impact of climate change on hydropower is uncertain and can be positive, negative, or vary depending on local conditions. Secondary effects on glacier lake outbursts, landslides, and sediment load are poorly understood. Evaluating the greenhouse gas contribution and water temperature impact of hydropower projects is essential when planning for the future. The importance of assessing the opportunities and risks of hydropower under different climate conditions is emphasized.

Review of air-based PV/T and BIPV/T systems - Performance and modelling

Efstratios Dimitrios Rounis et al.

Summary: This article reviews the monitored performance and modeling of air-based photovoltaic/thermal (PV/T) and building integrated photovoltaic/thermal (BIPV/T) systems. It found that the majority of experimental studies focus on small-scale PV/T prototypes, with limited research on full-scale BIPV/T systems. Variations in testing conditions and system types may hinder direct performance comparisons and introduce uncertainties in predicting system performance. These inconsistencies contribute to a lack of confidence in the systems and limited realized applications. The review aims to identify research needs and provide a framework for standardized testing and modeling at different design stages.
