The synthesis and structures of the ligands, homopolymers and their corresponding polymer complexes are described. This review gives an account of the coordination chemistry of some polymer complexes with some transition metal ions. The characterization of polymer complexes was carried out by different spectroscopic techniques. The thermal stabilities of the polymer complexes were studied by means of thermogravimetric analysis. The activation energies of the degradation of the polymer complexes were calculated using the Arrhenius equation. The rates of polymerization of polymers in the absence and in the presence of transition metal were studied. (C) 2016 Published by Elsevier B.V.
