Caroline Veldhuizen et al.

Summary: This article describes and analyzes the transfer of smart specialization from Europe to Gippsland, Australia, highlighting the factors that enhance or diminish its contribution to development in this region. It explores the validity of assumptions underlying the efficacy of smart specialization and the institutional and political factors that influence policy transfer. By adopting an action research and constructivist approach, the article emphasizes the importance of considering a region as a relational space and the interplay between geography, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Beyond the success/failure of travelling urban models: Exploring the politics of time and performance in Cape Town's East City

Enora Robin et al.

Summary: This paper emphasizes the importance of policy mobility research engaging with the 'multiple temporalities' of globally prevalent urban policy ideas. Through a study of redevelopment policies in Cape Town's East City, two contributions to existing urban policy mobility research are formulated: examining micro-politics of policy mobility in specific places and over time, and expanding on new materialist approaches to urban policy mobility with insights from performativity theory.
