Exploring primary breast cancer survivors' self-management of sustained cancer-related cognitive impairment in the workplace

Bethany Chapman et al.

Summary: This study examined the sustained impact of cancer-related cognitive impairment (CRCI) on workability among women with primary breast cancer, as well as the experiences of self-management coping strategies. The findings suggest that CRCI can negatively affect workability beyond the initial return-to-work phase and that coping strategies may elicit mixed emotions.

Rethinking cognitive training: The moderating roles of emotional vulnerability and perceived cognitive impact of training in high worriers

Delia Ciobotaru et al.

Summary: The study found that participants with higher levels of baseline emotional vulnerability showed the greatest cognitive and emotional improvements after training, as well as the greatest perceived cognitive impact. Perceived cognitive impact was predicted by working memory improvement on the adaptive n-back training at high baseline levels of anxiety.

Associations between breast cancer survivorship and adverse mental health outcomes: A matched population-based cohort study in the United Kingdom

Summary: Breast cancer survivors are at higher risk of anxiety, depression, fatigue, sleep disorders, pain, and sexual dysfunction, which persist well into the survivorship period. Early diagnosis and management of these conditions are key to mitigate the impact on the long-term health of cancer survivors.
