Employment and the gender digital divide in Latin America: A decomposition analysis

Summary: This study found that differences in employment patterns between men and women in four Latin American countries are the largest contributor to the gender gap in Internet use, ahead of other predictors such as income, age, and education. The correlation between employment and Internet use is stronger among women, possibly due to the fact that women tend to work in more ICT-intensive sectors. If women were employed at the same rate as men, the gender digital gap in these countries would be reduced by at least a quarter.

Perceived user satisfaction and intention to use massive open online courses (MOOCs)
