Dynamics of adolescents' smartphone use and well-being are positive but ephemeral

Laura Marciano et al.

Summary: This study used continuous time dynamic models to investigate the reciprocal relationship between well-being and smartphone use. The results showed that changes in the frequency and duration of smartphone use predicted subsequent changes in well-being, and vice versa. Additionally, individual differences and the finding that changes in well-being tend to persist longer than changes in smartphone use were also observed.

The impact of screen time and green time on mental health in children and adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic

Anne -Linda Camerini et al.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected the lives of children and adolescents. This study examines the impact of screen time and green time on their mental health during the pandemic. The results suggest that screen time is a risk factor while green time is a protective factor for mental health. Additionally, socio-demographic factors such as gender, age, economic situation, body mass index, and availability of green space nearby also influence screen time and green time.
