Energy Management Strategy for Hybrid Energy Storage Electric Vehicles Based on Pontryagin's Minimum Principle Considering Battery Degradation

Fengyan Yi et al.

Summary: This paper aims to develop an energy management strategy for hybrid energy storage electric vehicles considering battery degradation based on Pontryagin's minimums principle (PMP). The strategy is verified through establishing a vehicle model, conducting battery cycle life trials, and using a rule-based control approach and PMP optimization algorithm to allocate power in a reasonable manner. The simulation experiment shows that the suggested strategy has a lower energy consumption rate and battery deterioration rate compared to the rule-based method.

Novel coordinated power sources switching strategy for transient performance enhancement of hybrid electric vehicles

Adel Oubelaid et al.

Summary: This paper investigates a new coordinated switching strategy to improve the transient performance of a fuel cell-supercapacitor electric vehicle. The proposed strategy protects fuel cells from large currents and compensates for poor transient response. Experimental results show that the coordination switching strategy reduces transient power ripples and DC bus voltage fluctuations, with the linear transition function providing the best performance.

Model Predictive Direct Torque Control and Fuzzy Logic Energy Management for Multi Power Source Electric Vehicles

Khoudir Kakouche et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel Fuzzy-MPDTC control method applied to a fuel cell battery electric vehicle. The method uses model predictive direct torque control to control the torque of a permanent magnet synchronous motor, and utilizes an energy management strategy based on fuzzy logic to distribute power over energy sources rationally and satisfy the load power demand. Simulation results show good performance of the whole system, confirming the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed control techniques.

Fuzzy-Energy-Management-Based Intelligent Direct Torque Control for a Battery-Supercapacitor Electric Vehicle

Adel Oubelaid et al.

Summary: This paper presents a fuzzy energy management strategy for a battery-supercapacitor electric vehicle, which provides different driving modes and suitable power to the vehicle. It also considers possible failures in vehicle power sources. The speed and torque of the HEV traction machine are simultaneously controlled using a genetic algorithm and newly proposed cost functions. Simulation results show that the strategy improves vehicle performance in terms of ripple minimization.

Intelligent Torque Allocation Based Coordinated Switching Strategy for Comfort Enhancement of Hybrid Electric Vehicles

Adel Oubelaid et al.

Summary: This paper proposes two intelligent torque distribution strategies based on particle swarm optimization and fuzzy logic control to maximize the propulsion power of hybrid electric vehicles. The strategies select the best torque candidates and differential arrangements, and ensure convenient torque vectoring across vehicle wheels. A coordinated switching strategy is also introduced to reduce transient ripples and torque jerks.
