Long term stability of cantilever gas nanosensors to detect Euschistus heros (F.) pheromone release by rubber septa

Summary: This study presents the use of cantilever gas nanosensors coated with PANI/PSS and PANI.Ag to monitor the release of neotropical brown stink bug pheromone in rubber septa. The results show a daily reduction in resonance frequency of the nanosensors when exposed to the pheromone-containing rubber septum. Relative humidity does not affect the resonance frequency of the nanosensors. After 365 days of evaluation, the nanosensors exhibit a long-term stable response and can successfully detect the release of pheromone molecules.

Greener One-Pot Synthesis of Gold Nanoparticle Glycoconjugates Using Functionalized Sugars

Summary: This study reported the synthesis of gold-nanoparticle glycoconjugates in aqueous media at ambient temperatures for the first time. A series of sugars and small molecules were used as reducing, capping, and stabilizing agents to react with gold(III) chloride salt to produce the AuNP-GCs. The chemistry and concentration of sugar ligands were found to play a critical role in determining the properties of the AuNP-GCs.
