Excitonic Solar Cells Using 2D Perovskite of (BA)2(FA)2Pb3I10

Shu Hu et al.

Summary: This study fabricated two-dimensional (2D) perovskite films and solar cells using mixed BA and FA cations at different concentrations and temperatures, with the addition of thiourea in the precursor solution. While the 1.0 M solution resulted in larger crystalline grain size, devices from the 0.25 M solution using the hot-cast technique showed better performance on average. Spectra analysis showed exciton absorption in devices from the 0.25 M solution, which was lacking in devices from the 1.0 M solution.

Effect of Co-Solvents on the Crystallization and Phase Distribution of Mixed-Dimensional Perovskites

Alessandro Caiazzo et al.

Summary: Solution-processed quasi-2D perovskites with varying inorganic layers show promise for stable and efficient solar cells. The study investigates the crystallization dynamics and phase distribution of these perovskites, revealing that careful tuning of solvent/co-solvent ratio can lead to higher power conversion efficiency by achieving a more homogeneous phase distribution.

Film Formation Control for High Performance Dion-Jacobson 2D Perovskite Solar Cells

Xu Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a detailed investigation into the effects of different solution-casting processes on film formation for DJ perovskite semiconductors was conducted. It was found that faster solvent removal through hot-casting or antisolvent dripping resulted in a more uniform thickness distribution of quantum wells, leading to enhanced carrier transport and increased power conversion efficiencies for photovoltaic devices. High efficiency of 15.81% was achieved for hot-casting devices, marking it as the highest efficiency for aromatic spacer-based DJ perovskite solar cells.

Carbon-based electrodes for perovskite solar cells

Meidanx Que et al.

Summary: Carbon-based perovskite solar cells (C-PSCs) exhibit cost-effective processability and high stability, showing great potential for large-scale production processes. However, issues such as inferior performance and poor interface contact need to be addressed first. Three main carbon materials display high photoelectric conversion efficiencies and have a positive impact on C-PSCs.

Dion-Jacobson halide perovskites for photovoltaic and photodetection applications

Huiying Fu

Summary: Hybrid halide perovskites have shown promise as semiconducting materials for low-cost thin film photovoltaics, but their inherent instability hinders industrial-scale production. Two-dimensional perovskite structures offer a solution to this issue, allowing for customizable photophysical properties and high-performance devices. Lately, low-dimensional Dion-Jacobson (DJ) phase perovskites have attracted attention for their stability and potential for high power conversion efficiency in optoelectronic applications.

Enhancing the efficiency and stability of two-dimensional Dion-Jacobson perovskite solar cells using a fluorinated diammonium spacer

Di Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel 2D DJ perovskite film was prepared using 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-1,4-benzenedimethanammonium (TFBDA), which showed improved charge transport and dense morphology. The TFBDA-based PVSC achieved an outstanding PCE of 15.24%, outperforming its nonfluorinated counterpart. The enhanced efficiency and stability of the TFBDA-based devices can be attributed to the hydrophobic nature of the fluorine atom and the stronger interaction between the fluorinated organic spacer and the inorganic slab.
