Towards high-performance lithium-sulfur battery: Investigation on the capability of metalloid to regulate polysulfides

Tianliu Huang et al.

Summary: This study successfully proposed an independent interlayer made of Ge-doped nitrogen-rich carbon skeleton (GNCS) using electrospinning technique, which can effectively alleviate the shuttle effect in lithium sulfur batteries and boost the conversion of polysulfides. Experimental results demonstrate that LSBs with GNCS interlayers exhibit superior rate performance and decent long-cycling performance.

Characterizing the dielectric properties of carbon fiber at different processing stages

Hsien-Wen Chao et al.

Summary: Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fibers undergo chemical reactions to transform into carbon fibers, with oxidation and pre-carbonization being key stages. The study utilized enhanced-field method and contour mapping method to characterize dielectric properties of the fibers for the first time, showing an increase in both real and imaginary parts of permittivity with processing temperature. Results indicate a change in dielectric constants and loss tangents as the fibers progress through the processing stages.
