Kallen-Lehmann spectral representation of the scalar SU(2) glueball

David Dudal et al.

Summary: This study proposes and explores a method for estimating the Kallen-Lehmann spectral density from gauge invariant lattice QCD two point correlation functions through an appropriate inversion method. As a proof of concept, the SU(2) glueball spectrum with quantum numbers J(PC) = 0(++) is investigated, with different values of the lattice spacing. The estimates for the ground state mass are in good agreement with the traditional approach based on the large time exponential behavior of the correlation functions, and hints of excited states in the spectrum are found in the spectral density.

Reconstructing QCD spectral functions with Gaussian processes

Jan Horak et al.

Summary: In this study, we reconstruct ghost and gluon spectral functions in 2 + 1 flavor QCD using Gaussian process regression. By specifying generic magnitude and length scale parameters in the kernel function, we are able to suppress spurious oscillations and other common reconstruction artifacts. We utilize results from functional computations in Yang-Mills theory and QCD to further reduce systematic error. Our numerical results are compared against direct real-time functional computations and an earlier reconstruction in Yang-Mills theory, showing the promising potential of this systematic approach in unveiling real-time properties of QCD.

Schwinger function, confinement, and positivity violation in pure gauge QED

Lee C. Loveridge et al.

Summary: This study investigates the connection between confinement and positivity violation in the lattice regularized pure gauge compact U(1) theory through the Schwinger function associated with the Landau gauge photon propagator. The simulations demonstrate a clear link between the realization of confinement and positivity violation of the photon Schwinger function, with a computed mass scale distinguishing the two phases of the theory.

A window on infrared QCD with small expansion parameters

Marcela Pelaez et al.

Summary: Lattice simulations in the Landau gauge have shown that the coupling constant in the QCD sector remains finite and moderate at all scales, while the gluon propagator reaches a finite nonzero value at vanishing momentum. Studies have successfully described infrared QCD dynamics using the perturbative Curci-Ferrari model, with calculations showing good agreement with lattice simulations. The approach has also been applied to scenarios with dynamical quarks, showing controlled approximation schemes can account for chiral symmetry breaking. Applications to nonzero temperature and chemical potential have also been explored.

Lattice pure gauge compact QED in the Landau gauge: The photon propagator, the phase structure, and the presence of Dirac strings

Lee C. Loveridge et al.

Summary: By investigating the lattice Landau gauge photon propagator and the average number of Dirac strings, we found that they can be used to identify the confinement-deconfinement transition, which is of first order. In the confined phase, the propagator is finite with a mass gap, and the number of Dirac strings is two orders of magnitude larger compared to the deconfined phase. In the deconfined phase, the theory becomes massless with essentially no Dirac strings present.
