Flowing bosonization in the nonperturbative functional renormalization-group approach

Romain Daviet et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the application of the nonperturbative functional renormalization group method based on Bosonization in one-dimensional quantum fluids. A Luttinger liquid in a periodic potential is used as an example. The results show that in the renormalization process, the phase field theta needs to be dynamically redefined in order to maintain its conjugate relationship with the density field phi. By deriving explicit flow equations, it is demonstrated that this approach is consistent with the results of the sine-Gordon model. The standard phenomenology of the Luttinger liquid can only be obtained through the scale-dependent parametrization of the phase field theta.

A novel background field approach to the confinement-deconfinement transition

Duifje Maria van Egmond et al.

Summary: We propose a novel approach for studying the confinement-deconfinement transition in Yang-Mills theories by using a background-field generalisation of the Landau gauge. We demonstrate that the electric susceptibility diverges at a second order transition in this gauge, making the gluon propagator a clear probe of the transition. By implementing our method in the Curci-Ferrari model, we obtain transition temperatures that are in excellent agreement with lattice values.

Exploring smoking-gun signals of the Schwinger mechanism in QCD

A. C. Aguilar et al.

Summary: This study presents a detailed derivation of the non-Abelian Ward identity obeyed by the pole-free part of the three-gluon vertex in the soft gluon limit, and determines the displacement that the onset of the Schwinger mechanism produces to the standard result. The results obtained through two independent methods are in excellent coincidence, providing a self-consistency check for the entire approach. The statistical significance of the resulting signal is estimated to be 3 standard deviations compared to the null hypothesis.

The nonperturbative functional renormalization group and its applications

N. Dupuis et al.

Summary: The renormalization group is crucial in physics for determining the low-energy properties of systems and searching for ultraviolet completions. The nonperturbative functional renormalization group (FRG) method is a modern implementation of Wilson's RG, providing a framework to study models with correlated degrees of freedom over long distances. It is based on an exact functional flow equation and has applications in various fields of physics.

Mass generation in Landau-gauge Yang-Mills theory

Gernot Eichmann et al.

Summary: The origin of the mass gap in the Yang-Mills sector of QCD is a longstanding question, which can be addressed by solving the coupled Dyson-Schwinger equations and exploring the longitudinal projection of the gluon selfenergy in the mechanism of mass gap generation. The study reveals the presence of a massless pole in the ghost-gluon vertex, but it is only present in the scaling solution due to the assumption of complete infrared dominance of the ghost.

Ghost dynamics in the soft gluon limit

A. C. Aguilar et al.

Summary: In this study, the dynamics of the ghost sector in quenched QCD in the Landau gauge have been investigated using large-volume lattice simulations as key inputs. The results show excellent agreement between numerical treatments and lattice data, indicating a high level of consistency in both physical concepts and computational schemes.

Fully coupled functional equations for the quark sector of QCD

Fei Gao et al.

Summary: In this study, a comprehensive investigation of the quark sector of 2 + 1 flavor QCD was conducted using a self-consistent treatment of the Schwinger-Dyson equations for the quark propagator and the full quark-gluon vertex. The hierarchy among the vertex form factors was established, with only three dominant ones identified. The quark propagator components obtained from this approach showed excellent agreement with results from other methods and simulations, demonstrating the versatility and reliability of the present approach.
