A thermal actuated switchable dry adhesive with high reversibility for transfer printing

Shun Zhang et al.

Summary: This study presents a robust design of thermal actuated switchable dry adhesive, achieving adhesion switchability of over 1000 by combining the effects of an elastomeric membrane and a sub-surface embedded stiff sphere. Experimental and numerical studies reveal the underlying thermal actuated mechanism and demonstrate the potential applications in transfer printing of fragile objects onto challenging non-adhesive surfaces.

Electron transfer in the contact-electrification between corrugated 2D materials: A first-principles study

Dan Tan et al.

Summary: The study revealed that significant corrugation of the contacting materials, whether identical or not, leads to a nonlinear increase in charge transfer, causing electron depletion near concave surfaces and electron accumulation near convex surfaces. The maximum charge transfer occurs around an equilibrium separation distance of the contacting materials.

Interfacial thermal resistance between nm-thick MoS2 and quartz substrate: A critical revisit under phonon mode-wide thermal non-equilibrium

Hamidreza Zobeiri et al.

Summary: 2D materials experience strong thermal non-equilibrium between optical and acoustic phonon branches under intense laser irradiation, impacting the characterization of interface thermal resistance. It is important to consider this non-equilibrium effect when evaluating interfacial thermal properties of materials like MoS2 supported on quartz.

Direct Characterization of Thermal Nonequilibrium between Optical and Acoustic Phonons in Graphene Paper under Photon Excitation

Hamidreza Zobeiri et al.

Summary: Raman spectroscopy is used to measure thermophysical properties of 2D materials, with recent studies indicating a strong thermal nonequilibrium between optical and acoustic phonons. A novel approach combining electrothermal and optothermal techniques was used to directly characterize this phenomenon for the first time. The study highlights the importance of considering optical-acoustic phonon thermal nonequilibrium in Raman-based thermal characterization.
