Robust process capability indices and statistical inference based on model selection

Shuai Wang et al.

Summary: A new robust PCI method is proposed to evaluate the process capability of a production process, which can be applied when the distribution of quality characteristics is uncertain. The most suitable model is automatically selected using a model selection approach, and methods for point estimation, interval inference and hypothesis testing are studied. Additionally, a strategy is proposed to improve the manufacturing process.
