Can high-speed rail improve enterprise capacity utilization? A perspective of supply side and demand side

Juan Lu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the impact of high-speed rail on enterprise capacity utilization and finds that high-speed rail can significantly improve capacity utilization. The impact on the supply side is greater than on the demand side. Higher-grade high-speed rail stations make it easier for enterprises to improve capacity utilization. The closer the distance between the enterprise and the nearest high-speed rail station, the easier it is to improve capacity utilization. High-speed rail has a stronger promotion effect on the capacity utilization of eastern enterprises, non-state-owned enterprises, and labor-intensive enterprises.

Understanding the formation of City-HSR network: A case study of Yangtze River Delta, China

Ying Guo et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the impact of city economic development on the formation of HSR network using a generative network model (GNM) and social network analysis, focusing on 20 cities in the Yangtze River Delta region of China. The results showed that GNM could simulate the observed City-HSR network with satisfactory performance, and city population should be given priority when planning new HSR lines. This study proposed a research framework for exploring the interaction between the city economic network and HSR network and provided data-driven analyses for regional transport policy.

Relationship between the Chinese Main Air Transport Network and COVID-19 Pandemic Transmission

Min Su et al.

Summary: This study uses complex network analysis methods and econometric models to analyze the scale change and spatial distribution of China's main air transport network (CMATN) and its role in the early spread of the pandemic. The results show that CMATN is mainly located in the economically developed and densely populated central and eastern regions of China. The study also finds that the centrality of CMATN node cities is positively related to the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic and the number of confirmed cases, indicating the crucial role of air transport networks in the early spread of the pandemic.

Minimum Dominating Set of Multiplex Networks: Definition, Application, and Identification

Dawei Zhao et al.

Summary: The article introduces the definition of the minimum dominating set (MDS) in multiplex networks and its applications, and proposes a spin-glass model and belief-propagation equations for solving the MDS problem. It also presents a BP-guided decimation algorithm and a novel leaf-removal strategy for improving accuracy and efficiency. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithms is verified through comparisons with other methods on multiple examples of multiplex networks.
