Predicting runoff series in ungauged basins of the Brazilian Cerrado biome

Daniel Althoff et al.

Summary: Information on water availability is crucial for decision-making and reducing water disputes. However, the Cerrado region lacks basic hydrological data. This study used two regionalization frameworks to assess water availability, using parameter sets from calibrated catchments. The results provide accurate simulations and a dataset for the Cerrado region.

Development and functional evaluation of pedotransfer functions for soil hydraulic properties for the Zambezi River Basin

Mulenga Kalumba et al.

Summary: Water retention and saturated hydraulic conductivity are important soil properties for crop growth and hydrological modelling. This study compared the performance of widely used Saxton & Rawls PTFs and newly developed PTFs in the Zambezi River Basin, finding that the new PTFs outperformed the Saxton & Rawls PTFs in estimating soil water retention and hydraulic conductivity.
