Three-Component Synthesis of Some New Coumarin Derivatives as Anticancer Agents

Latifah A. Alshabanah et al.

Summary: A new three-component reaction using chitosan-grafted poly(vinylpyridine) as an eco-friendly catalyst was developed for the synthesis of novel 3-heteroaryl-coumarin under ultrasonic irradiation. The process proved to be simple, efficient, and yielded compounds with promising anticancer activities, as demonstrated by the evaluation of the products against HEPG2-1.

Synthesis of New Thiazole Clubbed Imidazo[2,1-b]thiazole Hybrid as Antimycobacterial Agents

Huda K. Mahmoud et al.

Summary: This study aims to synthesize bioactive hybrid pharmacophores and assess their antimycobacterial activity. The results showed that derivative 7b exhibited the most promising antimycobacterial activity among the tested compounds. The structure-activity relationship studies indicated that the substituent on the thiazole ring was related to the antimycobacterial activity.

Design, Synthesis, and Biological Evaluations of Novel Azothiazoles Based on Thioamide

Abdelwahed R. Sayed et al.

Summary: In this study, different thiazoles were prepared via a reaction between 2-(3,4-dimethoxybenzylidene)hydrazine-1-carbothioamide (1) and hydrazonoyl halides under base-catalyzed conditions. The structures of the synthesized azo compounds were confirmed, and their potential anticancer activities and ability to promote apoptosis were evaluated. This research provides valuable insights for the development of novel anticancer drugs.
