Algorithm of Ship-Bridge Collision Risk Considering Ship's Dimension

Summary: This study proposes criteria for waterway Level of Service (LOS) based on the fundamental diagram of waterway traffic flow. Using historical AIS data from the Yangtze Estuary water area, the researchers determine the waterway LOS criteria and corresponding traffic conditions. The findings provide valuable insights for evaluating the performance of waterway transportation systems and informing their planning, design, operations, and management.
