Identify aberrant white matter microstructure in ASD, ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders: A meta-analysis of diffusion tensor imaging studies

Yilu Zhao et al.

Summary: The study revealed atypical white matter patterns in ASD, ADHD, and other NDDs. Shared microstructural abnormalities in the splenium of the CC were possibly present in ASD and ADHD. No consistent abnormalities were detected in specific learning disorder, motor disorder, or communication disorder.

The Altered Pattern of the Functional Connectome Related to Pathological Biomarkers in Individuals for Autism Spectrum Disorder Identification

Liling Peng et al.

Summary: This study proposes a method using functional brain network (FBN) and graph theory measurements to identify and distinguish autism spectrum disorder (ASD) from normal controls (NCs). The experimental results demonstrate that this method achieves superior identification performance and reveals important brain networks associated with ASD. This provides a new perspective for the early diagnosis of ASD and the exploration of its brain pathophysiology through machine learning.

Alterations of Regional Homogeneity in Preschool Boys With Autism Spectrum Disorders

Zhihong Lan et al.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate alterations in local spontaneous brain activity in preschool boys with ASD. The results showed changes in spontaneous activity in multiple brain regions of the ASD group, especially in visual and language-related areas, without correlation with CARS, ABC, or age.

The relationships between the topological properties of the whole-brain white matter network and the severity of autism spectrum disorder: A study from monozygotic twins

Chunyan Li et al.

Summary: By studying twins, we found that individuals with autism spectrum disorder have unique brain structural network attributes, including lower global efficiency, longer shortest path length, and abnormal nodal efficiency of specific nodes; these features are correlated with the severity of core symptoms of autism.
