Whole-body vibration decreases delayed onset muscle soreness following eccentric exercise in elite hockey players: a randomised controlled trial

Harold Akehurst et al.

Summary: The study found that post-exercise whole-body vibration therapy can significantly reduce muscle soreness and tightness in elite athletes after eccentric exercise, contributing to decreased injury risk and improved performance. This treatment modality can be easily integrated into existing training regimes and may have implications for other multi-sprint sports.

Reporting Guidelines for Whole-Body Vibration Studies in Humans, Animals and Cell Cultures: A Consensus Statement from an International Group of Experts

Marieke J. G. van Heuvelen et al.

Summary: Whole-body vibration (WBV) is an exercise or treatment method where subjects are exposed to mechanical vibrations through a vibrating platform or device. The correct, complete, and consistent reporting of WBV-specific data is crucial for interpreting, comparing, and aggregating studies. Specific reporting guidelines have been developed to address the continuous developments in WBV research and facilitate the accurate reporting of data related to WBV parameters.

Effects of whole-body vibration training with the same amplitude and different frequencies on the proximal femoral bone density in elderly women

Liang Cheng et al.

Summary: The study found that whole-body vibration training with frequencies of 20 Hz and 40 Hz improved the bone mineral density of proximal femurs in elderly women to varying degrees, but had no significant effect on femoral neck BMD. Increasing vibration frequency did not result in further changes in BMD under the same amplitude conditions.
