Capillary imbibition and flow of wetting liquid in irregular capillaries: A 100-year review

Jianchao Cai et al.

Summary: This review critically summarizes the fundamentals and concepts of various capillary imbibition models within different geometries over the past 100 years. It discusses the applications of these models and proposes a universal model based on dynamic wetting conditions and equivalent cylindrical geometry. Future research is suggested to focus on analyzing corner flow dynamics, wetting fluid snap-off, capillary rise of non-Newtonian fluids, and employing accurate physical simulation methods for capillary-driven flow processes.

Influencing Factors and Application of Spontaneous Imbibition of Fracturing Fluids in Lacustrine and Marine Shale Gas Reservoir

Yang Zhou et al.

Summary: Lacustrine shale with high clay mineral content and heterogeneity is difficult to hydraulic fracture and stimulate effectively. This study focuses on the spontaneous imbibition properties of lacustrine shale and suggests technical countermeasures to improve the complexity of fracture networks. The main influencing factor is the imbibition and diffusion ability of fluid, and clay stabilizer should be added to avoid formation damage caused by clay minerals.

Natural Gas Geochemistry of Jurassic Shaximiao Formation in the Western Sichuan Basin, China: Fault-Controlled Differentiation in Accumulation Process

Jun Dong et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the accumulation process of the Middle Jurassic Shaximiao reservoir in the Zhongjiang gas field by studying the geochemical parameters of natural gas samples. The results reveal the relationship between gas accumulation and the distance between hydrocarbon source faults. The study provides valuable insights into the migration patterns and phase state of natural gas.
