CB-Dock2: improved protein ligand blind docking by integrating cavity detection, docking and homologous template fitting

Yang Liu et al.

Summary: Protein-ligand blind docking is a powerful method for exploring the binding sites of receptors and ligand binding poses. In this study, we improved the docking method by combining CB-Dock with a template-based docking engine, resulting in the development of CB-Dock2. The updated docking server demonstrated better accuracy in binding site identification and binding pose prediction, outperforming other blind docking tools.

The prevalence of aflatoxins in different nut samples: A global systematic review and probabilistic risk assessment

Arezoo Ebrahimi et al.

Summary: Aflatoxins, secondary carcinogenic fungal metabolites, are found in various nuts. A global study showed variations in aflatoxin concentrations across different nuts, with some countries having high risk exposure. Stricter control measures are needed to prevent contamination of nuts with aflatoxins.

Antioxidant Activity and Molecular Docking Study of Volatile Constituents from Different Aromatic Lamiaceous Plants Cultivated in Madinah Monawara, Saudi Arabia

Amr Farouk et al.

Summary: The study compared volatile constituents, antioxidant activity, and molecular docking of essential oils from Mentha longifolia L., Mentha spicata L., and Origanum majorana L. Highest antioxidant activity was found in O. majorana oil, followed by M. spicata and M. longifolia oils, in line with differences in phenolic content and volatile constituents. Molecular docking analysis showed significant antioxidant abilities, suggesting potential for further exploration in controlling oxidative stress and as antioxidant agents in pharmaceutical industry.

Neoteric approach for peanuts biofilm using the merits of Moringa extracts to control aflatoxin contamination

Yehia Hassan Abu-Sree et al.

Summary: This study aimed to address the challenge of aflatoxigenic fungi and aflatoxins in peanut production by using bioactive Moringa extracts. The results showed that Moringa leaf and oil-seed extracts have microbial inhibition properties and unique fatty acid compositions. The application of a composite emulsion for peanut coating with Moringa extract demonstrated significant inhibition of A. flavus strain compared to the control.
