Phosphoproteome analysis reveals chitosan-induced resistance to osmotic stress in rice (Oryza sativa L.) seedlings

Wasinee Pongprayoon et al.

Summary: This study revealed the mechanism underlying the response of plants to osmotic stress at the posttranslational level, showing that chitosan enhances the plants' resistance to osmotic stress by increasing shoot fresh and dry weights and maintaining high levels of photosynthetic pigments. The phosphoproteome analysis identified several signaling pathways involved in the chitosan-induced response under osmotically-stressed conditions.
