Nutritive Value of 11 Bee Pollen Samples from Major Floral Sources in Taiwan

Pei-Shou Hsu et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the nutrient composition of 11 popular bee pollen samples in Taiwan, revealing variations in carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids across different samples. Glaringly, Hylocereus costaricensis bee pollen fully met the essential amino acid requirements, while the other samples showed limitations in certain essential amino acids. The predominant fatty acids in these bee pollen samples include palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, and linolenic acid.
