Calcium alginate-regenerated spent bleaching earth composite beads for efficient removal of methylene blue

Dihia Aberkane et al.

Summary: This study explores the regeneration of spent bleaching earth (SBE) to create adsorbent composite beads, which exhibit efficient methylene blue (MB) adsorption capacity. Among the three types of Alg-RSBE composite beads, Alg-RSBE 1/1 demonstrates the highest MB adsorption capacity at 833.33 mg/g. In addition, the regeneration study shows successful desorption of MB from Alg-RSBE 1/1, with removal percentages remaining high at 88.15% after six cycles.
