Atomic scale modulation strategies and crystal phase transition of flower-like CoAl layered double hydroxides for supercapacitors

Summary: In this study, cobalt aluminum layered double hydroxide and its derivatives were synthesized and their structure, morphology, chemical composition, and electrochemical performances were investigated. The cobalt aluminum layered double hydroxide exhibited superior capacitance performance, rate capability, and cycling stability compared to cobalt phosphide. Moreover, the asymmetric capacitors constructed with cobalt aluminum layered double hydroxide and graphene showed high energy density, coulombic efficiency, and capacitance retention.

Thermally regenerative electrochemical refrigerators decision-making process and multi-objective optimization

Summary: This work presents a thermally regenerative electrochemical refrigerator model based on finite-time analysis. The system is analyzed in different temperature ranges, and sensitivity analysis is performed. A multi-objective genetic algorithm is used to optimize the system parameters, and the optimum values for cooling capacity and coefficient of performance are obtained. This study is significant for the lab-scale design of thermally regenerative electrochemical refrigerators.

Integrated Mg-Cl hydrogen production process and CaO/CaCO3-CaCl2 thermochemical energy storage phase change system using solar tower system

Summary: This paper investigates the integration of a solar system with a Mg-Cl cycle and a TCES system, where heat generated by the solar tower is stored by the TCES in charge mode. Sensitivity and exergy analyses reveal total efficiencies of 62.2% for TCES and 84.3% for Mg-Cl cycle, with the most exergy destruction coming from Carbonation and Electrolysis reactors. Annual analysis shows that the most exergy destruction is related to the Electrolysis reactor and the solar system.
