Integrated techno-economic-enviro-socio design of the hybrid renewable energy system with suitable dispatch strategy for domestic and telecommunication load across India

A hybrid renewable energy system (HRES) with consideration of TEES factors for domestic load and telecommunication load in India is developed in this study. Comparative study of different dispatch strategies using HOMER software shows that HRES with a predictive dispatch strategy outperforms other strategies, providing the lowest energy cost and optimal TEES parameters.
A hybrid renewable energy system (HRES) has emerged as a reliable, cost-effective, and environment-friendly source of electricity. However, for the sustainable design of HRES, consideration of technical, economical, environmental, and social (TEES) factors is crucial. In addition, a suitable dispatch strategy is necessary to in-crease HRES reliability, cost-effectiveness, and environmental friendliness. Therefore, an HRES with TEES factors for the domestic load (DL) and telecommunication load (TL) across India is developed in this paper. A comparative study of different dispatch strategies considering TEES factors is performed to find a suitable dispatch strategy. HOMER is employed to address the HRES design optimization problem and comparative study of different dispatch strategies. According to simulations, Pondicherry HRES has the lowest energy cost for DL and TL, but other TEES parameters are optimal at different HRES locations. Due to the lowest economical, technical (unmet load), environmental (carbon emission), and social (land required) factors, HRES with a pre-dictive dispatch strategy outperforms other dispatch strategies. A sensitivity analysis for components cost, solar radiation, wind speed, load and macro-economic variables of the HRES is performed to achieve a more feasible configuration. Furthermore, the HRES results are compared with recent literature. The quality of the HOMER result is also validated by comparing it to the PSO and SSA results.
