Caputo fractional-order SEIRP model for COVID-19 Pandemic

Saheed O. Akindeinde et al.

Summary: In this study, a Caputo-based fractional compartmental model for the dynamics of the COVID-19 pandemic was proposed and the existence and uniqueness of the solution were demonstrated. The basic reproduction number R0 was computed to determine disease spread, and stability of disease-free equilibrium point was analyzed using Ulam-Hyers and generalized Ulam-Hyers stability criteria.

Fire Safety of Healthcare Units in Conditions of Oxygen Therapy in COVID-19: Empirical Establishing of Effects of Elevated Oxygen Concentrations

Wojciech Wroblewski et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate oxygen concentrations in COVID-19 treatment areas and analyze evacuation conditions in case of a fire outbreak. By measuring oxygen concentrations 337 times, three safety thresholds were identified, and it was found that the response and evacuation time during a fire with an oxygen concentration of 25.2% did not exceed 2.5 minutes. Uncontrolled oxygen enrichment in the environment poses a threat to the safety of medical staff and patients in COVID-19 hospitals.

Estimation of effective coverage rate of fire station services based on real-time travel times

Dingli Liu et al.

Summary: The study aims to estimate the effective coverage rate (ECR) of fire station services in order to reduce human casualties and property losses caused by frequent fires. Through real-time travel times and case studies, it was found that the coverage rate of fire station services in Loudi is low, prompting the recommendation to build more fire stations to improve the coverage rate.

Reducing the risk of oxygen-related fires and explosions in hospitals treating Covid-19 patients

Maureen Heraty Wood et al.

Summary: Recent oxygen accidents, particularly those leading to hospital fires, have highlighted inadequate attention to and improper management of the dangers associated with oxygen. Hospitals need to strengthen their awareness and management of chemical risks, conduct investigations of hazardous events, and extract lessons learned to enhance prevention and emergency response capabilities.
