Optimized design of the detection coils for the metal foreign object detection system applied to wireless power transfer

Summary: In this paper, the importance of foreign object detection in wireless charging for electric vehicles is studied. The equivalent model is established, and the foreign object detection principle based on active detection coil is analyzed from the perspective of both the circuit and magnetic circuit. Through simulation comparison and analysis, an optimization scheme for metal foreign object detection coil is proposed, which effectively improves the detection accuracy.
